Sophomore Leadership Forum Spotlight: Clinton Cheung

The SLF is a great way to advance your career path starting your sophomore year. Here is the breakdown. If you are lucky enough to get accepted into a sophomore leadership program, around half or more of those in it will be offered an internship. This means you will have an internship with a great firm heading into your junior year and you get to bypass Meet the Firms. A huge stress relief! From there you get to intern and compete for a full time offer the next summer knowing that the firm may already favor you more since they got to know you at the sophomore leadership program. This is what happened with me, and I am so grateful for pushing myself to go to the Sophomore Leadership Forum. When you are there, make sure to check out as many firms as you can. Yes talk to the top firms you want, but also talk to as many firms as you can. You never know which firm you will end up clicking with, and you do not have to spend equal amounts of time with each firm. I went in thinking only big 4, but I again pushed myself to speak with other firms. Moss Adams not only invited me to their local Sophomore Leadership Program in San Diego, but also to their National Program in San Francisco (where they treat you out for 2 days at a nice hotel and all expenses paid for). Now I am happy and proud to say I will be working with them full time this upcoming October.

The SLF is extremely important! Come out to the UAS Prep Workshops, so you can have way less stress heading into junior and senior year knowing you took advantage of SLF and got yourself a job before your peers.
